Brave Little Pigeon

Back in time, when the world was quite scary, lived a brave little pigeon, whose name was Mary.

Important notes were tied to her feathers. She was sent overseas, in all kinds of weathers.

These tiny letters saved hundreds of lives, of soldiers and sailors, their children and wives.

Although Mary was small, she was bold and plucky. Her job was dangerous, but she thought herself lucky.

Until one stormy day, the clouds turned grey…

White Van Man

On the streets of the city, lived a very busy man, who made his deliveries in a big white van.

Beep beep, honk honk, “get out of my way! These parcels need posting by the end of the day!”

Up ahead was a tractor, going so slowly, the van driver, angry, was driving too closely.

Frustrated he swerved, nearly hitting a wall, the van driver shouted “move faster you fool!”

Then there was a lorry with a very heavy load. The lorry was wide, taking up the whole road…

Evie's Rainbow

It was a Monday morning and Evie was bored. She sat at her window as the heavy rain poured.

When the sun came out and the sky slowly cleared, to the little girl’s delight, a rainbow appeared.

She ran outside in the fresh summer air, and shouted to mummy that she was going somewhere.

She grabbed her coat, and followed the huge coloured arc, out the garden, down the road and through the local park.

After walking for hours she reached the rainbow’s end, when she heard a small voice say “hello friend”…

Mr & Mrs Pratch

Meet Mr & Mrs Pratch. Their cottage has a roof made of thatch. She is a teacher. He is a preacher. And together they make a good match.

On the surface they both appear normal. Their jobs are of course quite formal. But things aren’t as they seem. For this married team. Because their behaviour is a little abnormal.

In the canteen Mrs Pratch grabs her food. Without waiting her turn, she’s quite rude. With no thank you or please, she swipes at the cheese, and stomps off to her class in a mood.

Her husband on the other side of town, is in church getting dressed in his gown…
